Green challenge
At Roy & Fils Ltd., we strongly believe in the importance of recycling carpets. We are mindful of the impact our industry has on the environment. That is why we are proud to provide a logistics service for the carpet recycling procedure, in partnership with floor covering manufacturers who offer this same service and companies that specialize in this field. Wanting to create a positive impact on the environment, Roy & Fils Ltd. became acquainted with the LEED certification. Our company’s involvement with the LEED movement is entirely voluntary. We took part in more than just one LEED project. Our experience in the administrative and operational processes has made us a trusted partner.
What is a LEED project? LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a North-American environmental rating system program for high-quality sustainable building projects with third party certification. The evaluation criteria is established according to the following components: energy efficiency, water use efficiency, heating efficiency, locally produced construction supplies, re-use of surpluses, and other criteria that determine the level of certification based on categories of credits, that range from LEED certified to SILVER LEED, GOLD LEED and finally PLATINUM LEED.
